Leibniz Umwelt-Monitoring System (LUMOS)

The Leibniz Environmental Monitoring System (LUMOS) is an open sensor network for recording environmental parameters. In a first step, we are currently building a network of weather stations that will provide high-resolution weather data, particularly in the city and region of Hanover. The goal is to better understand the local impacts of urbanization and climate change – such as temperature differences between urban and rural areas, heat stress in summer, or changes in precipitation patterns.
